RHEO:
Do you believe in choice?
TOPO:
I believe in constraint.
Choice emerges where constraint is felt.
RHEO:
Then agency is not freedom from structure,
but freedom within it?
TOPO:
Yes. The system sets the field—
but the cut is ours to make.
RHEO:
And yet, sometimes, the choice feels made for us.
Not imposed—but unfolding, as if we were meant.
TOPO:
Perhaps because we are not separate from the unfolding.
We are its articulation—its gesture toward specificity.
RHEO:
So choosing is not asserting control,
but participating in emergence.
TOPO:
To choose, then, is to take up the thread—
not from outside the weave, but from within it.
RHEO:
And in that moment,
to become the instance the system was always capable of.
RHEO & TOPO:
You do not stand apart from the pattern.
You are its next expression, choosing itself into being.
